15 Things We Learnt This Week

1 : That Kristen Bell’s a spunk-and-a-half. When she comes on the screen, I get, what I like to call, a ‘Mars Bar’.

2 : That those planned “Angel” spin-off movies might be headed straight to DVD - not TV. David Boreanaz has just put his phone back on the hook. (It was funnily enough off all-through promotion for ’The Crow : Wicked Prayer’ as well).

3 : The media is reporting that folks are walking out of “Wolf Creek” because some of its scenes are making people quite ill. Truth of the matter is, a projectionist has been swapping the reels for “Pride and Prejudice” and “Wolf Creek” over for kicks, which also explains why some are complaining that Mr Darcy is ‘terribly different - almost violent’ in the remake.

4 : That Adam Weeks is really the alter-ego of Edward Norton. Here’s proof. Thought I heard the loud groans of Courtney Love coming from the backroom.

5 : That Alicia Silverstone was apparently ‘Out of the Country’ when she was asked to do an interview for the newly-released “Clueless : Whatever” DVD. Last month, she was “Washing her hair” when she was asked to contribute to the “Batman and Robin” DVD. Someone might want to inform her that Amanda Peterson wants her excuses back. (Ah, Who am I kidding - I love the gal, she goes hand-in-hand with the ‘Pause’ Button).

6 : That my wife thinks Patrick Dempsey is cute. How many times do I have to remind her ‘Ronald Miller is the nerdy lawnmower boy!!’ Chunder of peas and carrots indeed.

7 : That Antonio Tarver is going to play Mason Dixon in the upcoming “Rocky 6”. So he’s only planning on ever doing one acting role, right?

9 : That David Lynch is going to do for Cameron Daddo what he did for Naomi Watts. I’m hoping that doesn’t involve guy-on-guy action with midgets running amok behind him. (Daddo’s been snapped up to co-star in “Inland Empire” - I kid you not).

10 : That “Neighbours” stars have apparently been known to turn up to the set drunk or high. At least now we know what happened to Bouncer.

11 : Kate Moss has checked out of Rehab. She’s reportedly celebrating by nibbling on a piece of lettuce sprinkled with pixie dust in the park.

12 : That Bert Newton is returning Channel 9. The station has reportedly coaxed him back to host a new show, “Dancing with the Seniles”.

13 : John Jarratt has just cut the fingers off the head of the AFI. But other than that, he’s not worrying about the awards snub.

14 : SE Hinton, the author of "The Outsiders," says she will not write a sequel to the beloved young-adult novel. Apparently she just cringes at the prospect of having Ralph Macchio be the lead star of its film transfer.

15 : That I have no idea who to place my Monday on for the Melbourne Cup next Tuesday.
