Lily finds the old phone answering machine that was hidden because it had messages about the time Lily took off for San Francisco. Ted plugs it in, and Lily pushes the play button. A message from Ted is heard, and in it he calls Lily a Grinch. Except he didn’t say "Grinch" and Lily is offended. She takes all the Christmas decorations to her own apartment, forcing Ted to drop by to apologize. Except it doesn’t work.
