Alyson Hannigan

Alyson Hannigan was ’nervous’ for her first day on Veronica Mars

Wednesday 16 February 2005, by Webmaster

Question: It’s time for a little tough love. You do realize, don’t you, that there are a couple of other shows currently airing besides Lost, SVU, Scrubs, Desperate Housewives and Felicity - oh, wait, Felicity isn’t even currently airing! I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in thinking it might be nice if you occasionally threw a bone to people who watch, oh, I don’t know, Veronica Mars or, if you’re feeling truly adventurous, Battlestar Galactica. - Not Keri

Ausiello: OK, let’s not get crazy now. We’re not quite at the Battlestar Galactica stage yet. Veronica Mars I can do. Alyson Hannigan, who debuts Tuesday as Logan’s spoiled half sister, has signed on to do a second episode, airing April 26. And Aly tells me she’ll "hopefully have a big arc next season," too! Tuesday’s episode, she points out, "is really just an introduction to [my character] and telling the audience that she exists so that later on I can actually have more to do. I hope it works out because it is such a great show and it was so much fun to do. But I got so nervous [on my first day]. I think I probably blew my first scene. I don’t know what happened. I just got so nervous. It was as if I had never done a day on Buffy before!" Having seen her big debut, I can assure Aly that she has nothing to worry about. Our favorite little witch did just fine.

Question: Tell me honestly: What do you think the chances are of WB doing a Spike TV movie? - Renee

Ausiello: While I have her on the phone, let me ask Ms. Hannigan: "That’s a great idea. I just talked to somebody today who was saying, ’Why don’t they do a Spike movie?’ That’s who they should do - forget Angel or Buffy! Do the James Marsters movie. That would be huge. He’s bigger than anybody!" No argument here.

  • I do not believe for one SECOND that JOSS, ME, FOX, WB or whoever has never considered a Spike centered film, tv-movie or spinoff. It’s actually getting to be insulting that everyone is trying to pretend this is some novel concept only fans would notice. For whatever reason it hasnot been done but I KNOW they thought about it.I read AH character on VM is snotty and I cant wait to see it.
  • I’d love a Spike-based movie, but it has to have Willow in it, too! There has always been a great chemistry between Willow and Spike, throw in anyone else just for kicks...

I always really enjoyed the scenes with Spike, Willow, and Xander. Season 4, Ep 10 - "Doomed" when Spike finds out he can hurt demons... at the end when the 3 of them are back at Xander’s, and Spike wants to go kill some demons for the sake of "puppies" and whatnot... just awesome!

  • I don’t think it’s so much that nobody has thought about doing a Spike telemovie, or spinoff, as it is that those who have thought about it were afraid it would just be a repeat of Angel. Vampire with a soul, in love with a woman he cannot have, seeking redemption...etc.

Of course it can be very different, but I think the "suits" expect it would be the same...so it’s up to us to let them know what we want.
