Amber Benson & Christopher Golden - February 24th, 2006 - Chat transcript

Tuesday 28 February 2006, by Webmaster

[6:04pm] Simon changed the topic to "Welcome to the Chat with Chris Golden and Amber Benson (who will arrive shortly)".
[6:04pm] gman: After all the e-mail exchanges, Chris nice to chat with you live.
[6:04pm] ChristopherGolden: You too Guido.
[6:04pm] nighthawk: May I take the time to tell all the newcomers to the site to please check it out! it really is a great site!
[6:04pm] YMKA: lol
[6:04pm] Angelica: Hi noobs!
[6:05pm] Buffyverse: What she said!
[6:05pm] Shiai: Hi Chris, Simon, TW...and all.
[6:05pm] Angelica: Thanks for doing the book signings Chris, they were great.
[6:05pm] gman: Yes, welcome to those here for the first time.
[6:05pm] YMKA: awww
[6:05pm] Endorill: We must make hay til Simon turnes our voices off.
[6:05pm] YMKA: now I’m crying again...they are so nice...
[6:05pm] MochaVamp: I had a blast at your signings as well
[6:05pm] amberb joined the chat room.
[6:05pm] Simon: Aha!
[6:05pm] YMKA: oi
[6:05pm] Angelica: yay!
[6:05pm] gman: Welcome!
[6:05pm] nighthawk: hi, amber!
[6:05pm] Endorill: Now we are in for it.
[6:05pm] Buffyverse: Hi,amber!
[6:05pm] YMKA: now we won’t be able to talk....again:))
[6:05pm] gman: Sorry, guys.
[6:06pm] Simon: Alright, I’ll be turning Moderation back on, now that Ms. Benson has joined us
[6:06pm] Endorill: Welcome Amber, hope you have a nice time.
[6:06pm] amberb was granted voice by Simon.
[6:06pm] amberb: Thanks!
[6:06pm] YMKA: me too
[6:06pm] YMKA: hope we’ll have good time too
[6:06pm] Guest671 joined the chat room.
[6:06pm] Simon made this room moderated for normal users.
[6:06pm] amberb: Hey everyone!
[6:06pm] ChristopherGolden: Yay! She lives!
[6:06pm] Simon: LOL
[6:07pm] amberb: Had some browser trouble but it’s all working fine now

[6:07pm] Simon: Welcome, Amber! Was just about to send you a notice. As we are all gathered here... shall we kick off with some explanations?
[6:07pm] Simon: A warm welcome to our participants and our guests! I’m Simon, the coordinator of the site, and I’ll briefly go over the way this unique "virtual" Q&A will be handled. In a moment, Guido— who should be familiar to you as "Gman" our excellent administrator— will introduce our two guests.
[6:07pm] Simon: In order to keep this manageable, this chat is being moderated.
[6:07pm] Simon: During the formal Q&A, only the four of us will be "visible" and able to speak in this chat room. Whatever you type publicly will not be visible to anyone else.
[6:08pm] Simon: Most of the questions have been submitted in advance, which Gman will ask our guests, indicating the name and location of the questioner. However, at least every 15 minutes, I will present a question from the "audience."
[6:08pm] Simon: About every 10 minutes, I’ll put up a short reminder about how to submit a question. Please only one question per person at a time. You may send me your question at any time, however.

[6:08pm] amberb: Send all the dirty bits my way!
[6:08pm] ChristopherGolden: Hey, wait! I want some dirty bits, too! You can’t hog ’em all.

[6:09pm] Simon: And now over to Gman...
[6:09pm] gman: Thank you, Simon and a thank you to everybody in our virtual audience for being here.
[6:09pm] ChristopherGolden: Wild applause for our hosts.
[6:09pm] gman: It is my great pleasure and honor to welcome our very special guests, the creators of the Ghosts of Albion story: Amber Benson and Christopher Golden.
[6:09pm] ChristopherGolden: Lovers of dirty bits.
[6:09pm] gman: Amber appeared as "Tara" on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and she is also the writer, director and star of the independent films "Chance" and the upcoming "Lovers, Liars, and Lunatics."
[6:09pm] ChristopherGolden: cracking up.
[6:10pm] gman: Christopher Golden is the Bram Stoker Award-winning author of the Boys Are Back in Town, Spike & Dru: Pretty Maids All in a Row and co-author (with Nancy Holder) of the Watcher’s Guide, Vol. 1
[6:10pm] gman: Chris and Amber, thank you for joining us.
[6:10pm] ChristopherGolden: Thanks for having us.
[6:10pm] amberb: Thanks for having us!
[6:10pm] ChristopherGolden: Oh, sure, get all exclamation point-y!

[6:11pm] gman: Let’s begin with a general question for both Chris and Amber: how did the writing partnership get started— was it prior to Ghosts of Albion? Chris, how about we start with you?
[6:12pm] ChristopherGolden: Short version. We were introduced by a mutual friend and got to talking. When I found out Amber was a writer, it was an easy jump to asking her to write a Willow & Tara comics project with me.
[6:12pm] ChristopherGolden: Obviously, she said yes, foolish woman.
[6:12pm] ChristopherGolden:
[6:12pm] amberb: Little did i know what writing hell I was about to enter j/k

[6:13pm] gman: Lin in Bangor, Maine has a question. She wants to know: Which character did you enjoy writing the most and why? Amber?
[6:13pm] ChristopherGolden: Lin is really Stephen King.
[6:13pm] amberb: William. he’s such a prissy prig
[6:13pm] amberb: Hey Stephen
[6:13pm] ChristopherGolden: Amber loves to tease the prudish boys.
[6:14pm] gman: Chris, who was your favorite?
[6:14pm] amberb: You like the naked warrior queens
[6:14pm] ChristopherGolden: Heh heh. Doesn’t everyone? Actually, though, Tamara’s my favorite. That’s the irony that makes our secret recipe. Amber likes to write the boy parts, and I like to write the girl parts.
[6:15pm] ChristopherGolden: Obviously I’m exaggerating, btw.
[6:15pm] amberb: Come on... in real life too!
[6:15pm] ChristopherGolden: Don’t go all assuming we split the book up that way.

[6:15pm] gman: This question is from Rebecca in Los Angeles: What were the challenges in writing a cohesive story with two writers? Chris?
[6:15pm] ChristopherGolden: Well, YEAH!
[6:15pm] ChristopherGolden: Cohesive?
[6:16pm] ChristopherGolden: Nah, I’ve written a lot of collab. projects...
[6:16pm] ChristopherGolden: and it’s always a challenge. We just have to go over it a million times, make sure we’re all on the same page....
[6:16pm] ChristopherGolden: And have a GREAT editor.
[6:16pm] amberb: It actually is a lot more fun than writing on your own

[6:16pm] gman: From Scott in New York for Chris: I loved the exploration of some of the less pleasant aspects of 1838 Britain. Will future books also be exploring some of the social problems of 1838 Britain? What other social problems would you like future books explore?
[6:17pm] ChristopherGolden: Who’s that one for?
[6:17pm] amberb: It’s all you chris!
[6:17pm] ChristopherGolden: The second book, WITCHERY, doesn’t focus overmuch on that because it takes place mainly in the countryside.
[6:18pm] ChristopherGolden: Future volumes, I suspect, will cover social problems in London, and perhaps Britain’s relationship with the world.
[6:18pm] amberb: We both have an avid interest in finding out strange bits of victorian information...
[6:19pm] amberb: And the class system is integral to that.... And social problems as well.

[6:19pm] gman: Amber, what were the challenges writing for a male perspective, and how did Chris help with that?
[6:20pm] amberb: writing from the male perspective was a lot of fun for me, but cause I like to think I think in a more male way
[6:21pm] amberb: that made no sense. sorry
[6:21pm] ChristopherGolden: And I wasn’t much help, because I am a big hairy lesbian.
[6:21pm] amberb: typing troubles
[6:21pm] gman: lol
[6:21pm] gman: Males think?
[6:21pm] amberb: I think like a guy
[6:22pm] gman: If you say you like hockey that makes you just perfect.smile.gif

[6:22pm] gman: Chris, same question: how did Amber help develop the female perspective of the novel?
[6:22pm] amberb: Chris is more sensitive than I am.
[6:23pm] ChristopherGolden: Often in character moments, in details, not necessarily in what the characters are thinking about, but in HOW they’re thinking about it.
[6:23pm] ChristopherGolden: Not sure if that makes sense.
[6:23pm] ChristopherGolden: Also, as much of a "guy" as she thinks she is, she DID seem to enjoy the girly research more.
[6:23pm] ChristopherGolden: lol

[6:23pm] Simon: Ok, we have an audience question to follow-up
[6:24pm] Simon: ymka from NJ, for Amber: Can you give an example of how you "think like a guy?"
[6:24pm] amberb: Until very recently I thought prada was a hairspray
[6:24pm] gman: lol
[6:24pm] ChristopherGolden: rotfl
[6:24pm] Simon: LOL
[6:25pm] ChristopherGolden: The devil’s hairspray.
[6:25pm] amberb: See... so unlady like
[6:25pm] ChristopherGolden: Ask about her Coney Island research sometime.
[6:26pm] amberb: Don’t you mean c-nty island
[6:26pm] gman: lol
[6:26pm] ChristopherGolden: *holds lapels* Ahhh, yes.

[6:25pm] gman: Maria in Massachusetts has a question for Amber: You seem to be involved in so many things: acting, writing, and directing. Which is your favorite and why?
[6:26pm] amberb: Probably filmmaking, followed by writing
[6:27pm] amberb: I think that acting is very much like being a pawn in someone elses chess game. And I want to be in charge of the board, not on it
[6:28pm] gman: So directing is your favorite?
[6:28pm] amberb: dont you mean, bossing
[6:29pm] gman: Jossing, Amber.

[6:28pm] gman: A question for Chris from MochaVamp in San Francisco: What differences did you encounter when writing Ghosts as a novel versus a web animation
[6:29pm] ChristopherGolden: Hmmm...
[6:29pm] ChristopherGolden: The publisher had certain requests...
[6:29pm] ChristopherGolden: They wanted it grittier, more unpleasant, and much sexier...
[6:29pm] ChristopherGolden: We were ALL too happy to oblige...
[6:30pm] gman: We’re glad you did, Chris and Amber.
[6:30pm] amberb: Chris and I fight over who’s doin the sex scenes
[6:30pm] ChristopherGolden: Plus, there was definitely a focus on making things more tangible. Still wild, but more grounded.
[6:30pm] gman: Amber, who wins?
[6:30pm] amberb: Plus, writing for the web was much more like writing a screenplay
[6:30pm] ChristopherGolden: Yeah, the challenge in the sex scenes is trying to make the other one blush.
[6:31pm] ChristopherGolden: That’s no simple feat with the two of us.
[6:31pm] amberb: Victorian undegarments have a special flap to allow easy access
[6:31pm] ChristopherGolden: You’ve taken to wearing those, haven’t you?
[6:31pm] amberb: Only on Sundays
[6:32pm] amberb: Chris likes to come up with interesting names for the male member. Since we can’t really name it too much

[6:32pm] Simon: In a moment we’ll have a follow-up to that, but first a non-sequitur audience question...
[6:32pm] Simon: nighthawk in san diego asks Amber, will "Chance" ever be available on DVD in the US?
[6:32pm] ChristopherGolden: CHANCE should be streamed to every I-Pod in the world!
[6:32pm] amberb: Chance is available right now at http://chancemovie.com

[6:33pm] gman: What elements from other genre works influenced the creation of the mythology of Albion? Amber?
[6:33pm] amberb: Lovecraft for sure
[6:33pm] ChristopherGolden: totally.
[6:34pm] gman: Anybody else?
[6:34pm] ChristopherGolden: Also, Arthurian legend, every classic ghost story from Blackwood, James, etc.
[6:34pm] ChristopherGolden: And every adventure tale about someone having a duty thrust upon them.
[6:35pm] ChristopherGolden: In a way, the Swifts are a bit like Batman.
[6:36pm] amberb: chris?
[6:36pm] amberb: Who influenced you?
[6:36pm] amberb: I wanted a bit of Austen too

[6:36pm] amberb left the chat room. (Quit: Bye bye!)
[6:36pm] Simon: And since we lost Amber there for a moment...
[6:36pm] Simon: A quick reminder, for those just joining our virtual Q&A with Amber Benson and Christopher Golden, the authors of "Ghosts of Albion: Accursed."
[6:37pm] Simon: If you would like to ask a question of our guests, please type "/MSG SIMON" followed by your preferred name, location and question, specifying to whom the question should be posed. Only one question per person per time. Make sure to include the slash (/)

[6:36pm] amberb joined the chat room.
[6:36pm] ChristopherGolden: Yeah, for sure there’s some Jane Austen in there.
[6:37pm] ChristopherGolden: A lot of the "propriety" stuff is directly influenced by Jane Austen.
[6:37pm] ChristopherGolden: Obviously there’s *A LOT* of Conan Doyle influence, Sherlock Holmes stuff, though that was set fifty years later.
[6:37pm] ChristopherGolden: "Astray," our novella, is very Holmesian.
[6:38pm] ChristopherGolden: Structurally, I mean.
[6:39pm] amberb was granted voice by Simon.
[6:39pm] Simon: someone reminded me that Amber lost her voice
[6:39pm] ChristopherGolden: Ah, come on, that was funny.
[6:39pm] amberb: Oh no! You missed all my sly asides!
[6:39pm] gman: It’s the gentleman.
[6:39pm] Simon: yes, the asides were missed, greatly.
[6:39pm] amberb: I said I need to take a class on chat ’cause I stink at it

[6:35pm] gman: Chris, if I’m not mistaken there was work on a role playing game based on Ghosts. What is the status of that?
[6:35pm] ChristopherGolden: Eden Studios is still working on the RPG and hopes to have it out later this year. It would be nice if it came out alongside WITCHERY, in October, but we’ll have to see.

[6:40pm] gman: In what direction would you like to take Ghosts of Albion? More animated versions, a screenplay in the works?
[6:40pm] ChristopherGolden: Amber, all yours.
[6:40pm] amberb: We would love to do a tv series (animated or not) and maybe a film
[6:41pm] amberb: Do what League of Extraordinary couldn’t
[6:41pm] gman: Ghosts did make me think of of League.
[6:42pm] amberb: That was a bit of an influence for me too

[6:42pm] ChristopherGolden: Simon died, I think.
[6:42pm] Simon: Nope, was waiting on G’s next Q
[6:42pm] amberb: He expired like milk
[6:42pm] Simon: in rapt anticipation

[6:42pm] gman: MochaVamp from San Francisco wants to know: Does the mature content of the books cause any issues with further BBC Ghost series?
[6:43pm] ChristopherGolden: The BBC Cult site is gone. So the chances are there wouldn’t be further BBC Ghosts material.
[6:43pm] amberb: The lack of BBC right now is more due to their budget concerns
[6:43pm] ChristopherGolden: If we did more animated stuff, though, we’d just leave out the sex.
[6:43pm] amberb: Or do it in silhouette
[6:45pm] Simon: Going back to the BBC, briefly, I note that the GoA Cult site is still available at http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/ghosts/ — is the content in danger of disappearing?
[6:46pm] ChristopherGolden: Not that we’ve heard, but it’s always possible.
[6:46pm] amberb: I think it’s there. They’re just not adding to it

[6:43pm] gman: YMKA in New Jersey: Who wrote the first love scene between Sophia and William? Was it difficult to write and are you satisfied with the scene?
[6:44pm] ChristopherGolden: Were YOU satisfied with it?
[6:44pm] ChristopherGolden: Gman, can you get that answer?
[6:44pm] amberb: I think Sophia and Will were
[6:44pm] ChristopherGolden: lol
[6:44pm] amberb: I thought it was classy, but sexy at the same time
[6:44pm] gman: lol
[6:44pm] Simon: YMKA just messaged me "YES!"
[6:44pm] ChristopherGolden: I wrote that scene. It was a bit difficult to write because of the uptight nature of the era.
[6:45pm] ChristopherGolden: But that also, in a way, made it hotter.
[6:45pm] ChristopherGolden: I’m glad.
[6:45pm] gman: It’s that Victorian clothing I guess.

[6:45pm] gman: And now for some questions about their careers...
[6:46pm] gman: For Amber: Ronnie in Wishaw and YMKA in New Jersey, want to know: How is "Lovers, Liars and Lunatics" shaping up, and will it be screened at Moonlight Rising?
[6:47pm] amberb: Shaping up very well. Just put up a trailer at http://www.myspace.com/loversliarsandlunatics . It will not be screened at MR

[6:48pm] gman: Lin in Maine says: Christopher Golden has a long time fan in me. I have been hooked ever since his vampire trilogy Saints and Sinners, Angel Hearts and Devil Minds and Masques and Martyrs. Any chance for more vampires in the future?
[6:48pm] amberb: PLEASE!!! They rock!
[6:48pm] ChristopherGolden: Actually.....Just discussed that at lunch with my editor last week. Very possible. She says she wants to do more. Just waiting on them to actually commit.
[6:50pm] ChristopherGolden: Oh, and further to Lin in Maine . .. you do know there’s a fourth one, right? The Gathering Dark.

[6:49pm] Simon: A question from audience member Shiai (whom I’m to understand you both know): I’m curious, is there more to Sophia than meets the eye? Because there seemed to be a bit more at work in her mind than we were first led to believe. I’m suspicious.
[6:49pm] amberb: You should be! She’s kick butt
[6:50pm] ChristopherGolden: Maybe. Maybe not. But she plays a significant role in WITCHERY.

[6:50pm] gman: Amber, what did you enjoy most about playing Tara on Buffy the Vampire Slayer?
[6:50pm] amberb: The musical. I adore it
[6:51pm] amberb: Chris what’s your favorite thing about being on Buffy?
[6:52pm] ChristopherGolden: The way she moves her hips?
[6:52pm] amberb: You’re sooooooooo bad. Hehehehehe

[6:53pm] Simon: Taraswizard asks, "is there a distributer for Race You to the Bottom cause Chicago people did not get to see it yet?"
[6:53pm] amberb: Looks like it’ll be coming out in limited release in July

[6:54pm] gman: Ronnie in Wishaw asks: What can tell us about "The Heir", a horror screenplay you have been working on together?
[6:54pm] ChristopherGolden: We’re still trying to get it funded, and have been toying with other development avenues.
[6:54pm] ChristopherGolden: Anyone have $4 million to spare?
[6:54pm] Simon: Only $4? Can you take a check?
[6:54pm] amberb: It takes place in Ireland, which is a fav of both chris and mine

[6:55pm] gman: For Amber from Kristen in Edmonds, WA: What are your upcoming plans, and where are we going to see you on either the big or small screens soon?
[6:56pm] amberb: Will be on the scifi channel with Attack of the Gryphon this fall. Race you to the B is out in July
[6:56pm] amberb: Plus a whole slate of indies that will hopefully hit the fests

[6:56pm] gman: Chris, can you tell us something about your upcoming projects?
[6:57pm] ChristopherGolden: The Myth Hunters is out now. This fall will see the second GoA book from me and Amber, WITCHERY, and the next Menagerie novel. I’m currently working on the second book of The Veil trilogy, and a brand new project with Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.
[6:58pm] amberb: The one with Mike sounds AWESOME

[6:57pm] Simon: As a followup, it’s been suggested to ask Amber how she feels about working and producing in the indie movie scene?
[6:59pm] amberb: You get autonomy. It’s the only place that affords it right now
[6:59pm] amberb: With the advent of DV anyone can make their voice heard

[6:59pm] gman: JGunn asks: Amber, would you like to see a new spin-off/television series in the Buffy/Angelverse?
[7:00pm] amberb: Do I know JGunn *wink*
[7:00pm] amberb: I think they need a Danny Strong spin off
[7:01pm] ChristopherGolden: A whole Danny Strong network.
[7:01pm] ChristopherGolden: I want a Danny Strong pillow.

[7:00pm] Simon: nighthawk in san diego asks a similar Q: Amber. There has been talk of new Buffy movies, and even Buffy Animated. Would you be willing to reprise your role as Tara if the opportunity came?
[7:01pm] amberb: We’ll see. It’s all up to Joss Whedon

[7:01pm] Simon: Well, folks, seeing as we’re just at the hour mark... and having exhausted our pre-selected questions...
[7:01pm] Simon: if our guests are willing, I’d like to open up the room
[7:01pm] Simon: and turn on folks voices
[7:02pm] gman: Yes!!!
[7:02pm] ChristopherGolden: I’ve got a few minutes.
[7:02pm] amberb: Sure
[7:02pm] Simon: wonderful
[7:02pm] ChristopherGolden: Before the kids drag me down to watch movies.
[7:02pm] Simon made this room no longer moderated for normal users.
[7:02pm] Simon: everyone can speak... I’ve given back your voices
[7:03pm] Simon: Just like the Gentlemen, tis true.
[7:02pm] ChristopherGolden: Hola!
[7:02pm] YMKA: and nobody talks.....
[7:02pm] YMKA: lmao
[7:02pm] Shiai: Chris, if you want a Danny pillow, you’ll have to pay him twenty bucks.
[7:03pm] amberb: he loves Chris. Chris’ll get one for free
[7:03pm] ChristopherGolden: lol
[7:03pm] ymka: everybody is so shy.....
[7:03pm] ChristopherGolden: My wife might be jealous, but I guess I could share.
[7:03pm] Angelica: ...im not very talkative..I just lurk.

[7:03pm] taraswizaard: Chris and Amber did either of you get a chance to see Joss’s movie Serenity? and wadya think?
[7:04pm] ChristopherGolden: JUST saw Serenity. Thought it was just okay.
[7:04pm] amberb: I think Summer Glau is really talented

[7:04pm] ChristopherGolden: So, YMKA, tell us more about your response to the sex scene in ACCURSED...
[7:04pm] ymka: Chris: aaa....you wanna know?
[7:04pm] ChristopherGolden: Yes.
[7:04pm] Simon: As a reminder (oh yes, yet another one) this chat will be posted on the site...
[7:04pm] Angelica: So keep it Pg-13!!
[7:04pm] ymka: Chris: when I was at the signing and you were rtalking about "dirty scenes" I thought you guys were joking!!!!!
[7:04pm] ymka: Chris: but then I read it.....and...wow....
[7:04pm] ChristopherGolden: Oh, no. We don’t joke about the dirty stuff.
[7:04pm] ymka: is blushing......
[7:05pm] ChristopherGolden: Excellent. our work is done.
[7:05pm] ymka: Chris: 10+ on the dirty stuff;)

[7:05pm] nighthawk: So, Amber...simon wouldnt let me ask you for michelle trachtenberg’s phone number....so how bout just her email address?
[7:05pm] Simon: LOL, Night...tsktsk
[7:05pm] amberb: She’s got a bfriend sorry
[7:05pm] nighthawk: haha im gonna get so busted!
[7:05pm] gman: As usual nighthawk.
[7:05pm] nighthawk: hahaha, i had to!
[7:05pm] ChristopherGolden: Is she even old enough to have a boyfriend?
[7:05pm] nighthawk: and btw, i love you amber!
[7:06pm] nighthawk: and chris too....but not like that.
[7:06pm] Simon: Chris: I saw Eurotrip. She’s old enough.
[7:06pm] ChristopherGolden: lol at Simon.

[7:05pm] Endorill: I just want to say I AM NOT STEPHEN KING. I do know him, however. From PTA. Our kids went to school together. I am psyched about Witchery in Oct. And will pummel my bookseller until he aquires The Gathering Dark for me.
[7:06pm] ChristopherGolden: Thanks Lin. And he’s a good guy.
[7:06pm] Endorill: He is and his boys are great too.

[7:05pm] MochaVamp: Amber, currently you have been directing and acting in the same films. I love your acting, but any plans to move into just directing?
[7:06pm] amberb: I would love to direct from someone elses script. Definitely up for it. Throwing the lov your way night

[7:06pm] Guest: How did you pick the winners of the "Name a Ghost" contest? You picked mine as one of the winners, BTW....Mother Shipton.
[7:06pm] Shiai: Admit it...the two of you got drunk when you picked mine.
[7:06pm] Simon: Neat! We have ghost namers in our midst
[7:06pm] amberb: It took us bloody hours to decided there were so many good ones

[7:07pm] Buffyverse: Do you have a long-range plan for the direction you’d like to take Albion in or are you winging it?
[7:08pm] amberb: I wanna have my own line of fashion footwaer
[7:09pm] ChristopherGolden: We have a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong range plan.
[7:09pm] ChristopherGolden: But between here and there, anything could happen.

[7:09pm] Endorill: I also loved Immortal, Chris, but Pretty Maids All In A Row was great. Are they still buying Jossverse books?
[7:09pm] ChristopherGolden: Lin, I think they are, but nobody’s asked me to write another Buffy book.
[7:10pm] Endorill: I"ll write them if you promise that Spike will have a big part in it.
[7:10pm] nighthawk: lol
[7:10pm] ChristopherGolden: And, now, chaos ensues.
[7:10pm] gman: Speaking of Spike, how about a Spike movie?
[7:10pm] Endorill: It’s you and Michelle NH and me and Spike
[7:10pm] nighthawk: lol!
[7:10pm] nighthawk: i wish!

[7:10pm] amberb: Hey Chris, I heard their making a bust of me. hehehe
[7:10pm] ChristopherGolden: Seriously, Amber?
[7:11pm] Guest: I’ve seen the bust....
[7:11pm] ymka: who’s bust?
[7:11pm] Guest: Heh
[7:11pm] ChristopherGolden: Wait, you’ve seen Amber’s bust?
[7:11pm] Shiai: I’ve seen the ad, Amber...it’s from the bridge scene in OMWF. They really captured your likeness well, I think.
[7:11pm] Simon: busted.
[7:11pm] Guest784: the bust is stacked!
[7:11pm] amberb: Well, yeah. You know how well I *rack* up for Diamond
[7:11pm] ChristopherGolden: lol
[7:11pm] ChristopherGolden: Yes, Diamond does seem to get plenty of mileage out of you.
[7:11pm] Guest784: do they pay by the mile?
[7:11pm] Guest: It’s a nice bust....

[7:11pm] Simon: Amber: I wanted to say that it’s been absolutely lovely having you join us. Someone wanted to know (quote) "What’s up with the picture of Amber on the front cover of GoA:Accursed"
[7:12pm] ChristopherGolden: Simon, Amber HATED the idea of putting her face on the cover of teh book.
[7:12pm] amberb: I felt like a total cheesepuff ball head
[7:12pm] gman: Glad she didn’t get her way.
[7:12pm] nighthawk: omg she looks so beautiful on the cover!
[7:12pm] Endorill: really? But she’s so ethereal, perfect for the ghosties
[7:12pm] taraswizaard: The cover is great
[7:12pm] Buffyverse: yeah
[7:12pm] gman: Amber it helps the message get out.
[7:12pm] ymka: I didn’t recognize her at first...I guess I’m blind....
[7:12pm] Simon: I actually had to look twice to figure out it was Amber...
[7:12pm] amberb: It is fantastic. They did good at Del Rey
[7:12pm] Shiai: Does this mean Amber can play Bodicea, instead of Angelina in the film?
[7:13pm] gman: lol
[7:13pm] ChristopherGolden: I thought it came out fine, with more a suggestion that she might be Tamara than one of those really cheesy HEY LOOK AT SHATNER’S HEAD covers you sometimes see on Trek books.
[7:13pm] Endorill: That would be cool!
[7:13pm] amberb: My bust is private thank you very much!
[7:13pm] ChristopherGolden: Hey now!
[7:13pm] Simon: Chris: At this point, Shatner’s head might be all they could fit on a cover.
[7:13pm] ChristopherGolden: Now hang on. Don’t make fun of guys with giant heads.
[7:13pm] gman: What about his kidney stone?
[7:13pm] Endorill: or egos
[7:13pm] taraswizaard: Shatner’s head lol
[7:13pm] ChristopherGolden: Some of us are sensitive.
[7:14pm] ChristopherGolden: Like George Lopez.
[7:14pm] nighthawk: lol...what about goerge lopez??
[7:14pm] Endorill: Yours will never even approach the size of Shatners
[7:14pm] Simon: according to Entourage, you have to have a giant head to make it in the business.
[7:14pm] ChristopherGolden: LOVE that show.
[7:14pm] Guest784: um, which head has to be giant?....
[7:14pm] Angelica: eww
[7:14pm] ChristopherGolden: Don’t you think Amber should be on Entourage as an agent vying for Vinnie?

[7:14pm] amberb: I was thinking of putting some toenail clippings up for charity.
[7:14pm] Guest: $25,000 for that kidney stone from Shatner....
[7:14pm] Simon: Amber: be careful what you joke about...
[7:14pm] Simon: someone will be sure to make an offer
[7:15pm] Angelica: e.w.
[7:15pm] amberb: I mean, it IS for charity
[7:15pm] Endorill: I heard someone counting pennies in the background
[7:15pm] Angelica: that does redeem it somehow
[7:15pm] ymka: oi
[7:15pm] Guest: The $25,000 went to charity too.
[7:15pm] ymka: I read pennies as ....well...never mind that
[7:15pm] ymka: lol
[7:15pm] amberb: I thought I read Pen-ses not pennies at first
[7:15pm] Guest784: if they can sell Marsters’ hair, why not Amber’s toenails?
[7:15pm] ChristopherGolden: What, WHAT are you auctioning for charity?
[7:15pm] Simon: Can DNA be cloned from fingernails?
[7:15pm] Endorill: LOLR
[7:15pm] Angelica: Yes, it can.
[7:16pm] ymka: oi
[7:16pm] nighthawk: just a little stalker-ish there...
[7:16pm] Angelica: Ahh! Amber clones!
[7:16pm] Endorill: No sweetie, they are dead cells
[7:16pm] Simon: Hmmm... evil ideas
[7:16pm] Endorill: no no and no!

[7:16pm] ChristopherGolden: All right, guys. Time to say good night, unfortunately.
[7:16pm] ymka: awwww
[7:16pm] Simon: Thanks again, Chris for sticking around!
[7:16pm] gman: Thank you Chris and Amber.
[7:16pm] amberb: Night ya’ll
[7:16pm] Endorill: Thank you sooooomuch for coming.
[7:16pm] nighthawk: great talking with you chris and amber!
[7:16pm] ymka: thanks!!! and good night
[7:16pm] taraswizaard: good nite Chris
[7:16pm] ChristopherGolden: My pleasure, Simon. And thanks so much for having us.
[7:16pm] Buffyverse: thanks!
[7:16pm] Simon: And you are of course welcome to stop by any time (hint-hint)
[7:16pm] Guest: Thanks to Chris and Amber
[7:16pm] gman: Let’s talk Witchery next fall.
[7:16pm] ChristopherGolden: Night John boy.
[7:16pm] amberb: Thanks for having us!
[7:16pm] Angelica: Ciao Chris and Amber!
[7:16pm] Endorill: Write more books
[7:16pm] ChristopherGolden: Sounds good.
[7:17pm] Simon: we have a fairly active book section, with drop-ins from other authors
[7:17pm] amberb left the chat room. (Quit: Bye bye!)
[7:17pm] ChristopherGolden: Adios. *poof*
