’Angel’ Star Acker Wings to ’Alias’

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Former "Angel" star Amy Acker is getting set for a stint on another cult favorite with a deep backstory — ABC’s "Alias." Acker, who guested on The WB’s "Supernatural" this week, will appear in two episodes of "Alias," scheduled for Oct. 13 and 20. She’ll play an agent named Kelly Peyton who works with Rachel Gibson (new cast regular Rachel Nichols).

In Acker’s first episode, titled "The Shed," Sydney (Jennifer Garner) and new APO agent Thomas Grace (Balthazar Getty) discover that Rachel "has something shockingly in common" with the pregnant spy. Based on Thursday’s (Sept. 29) season premiere, it appeared that Rachel was working for a rogue agency headed by Gordon Dean (guest star Tyrees Allen), but is probably unaware of it, much as Sydney was with SD-6.

ABC isn’t saying much else about Acker’s character, so it’s unclear if Peyton knows she’s working for the bad guys. Acker played the brilliant but socially awkward Fred on "Angel" from 2001-04. She’s set to star in the CBS drama "The Unit," from "The Shield" creator Shawn Ryan and David Mamet, at midseason.

Her other credits include "Catch Me If You Can," "The Perfect Man" and voice work on "Justice League Unlimited."

Amy Acker confirmed, that she will guest star in at least 3 episodes.
