Andy Hallett is Feeling Better

A Letter From Andy (10.06.04)

Hello Friends,

Thanks for checking back in on the website. Fortunately I have a much better report for you this time. I’m feeling great and I’ve recovered quite well, actually I’d say that I feel pretty much normal.

(Some would argue against that statement...I just know it.)

I also must again mention that without the help and tremendous amount of care & concern from my doctors, mainly Dr. Sourpik Avakian, I would really be up a creek, or perhaps at the bottom of one. LOL...so thank you Doctor.

I quickly realized that my doctors were ‘somewhat serious’ when they told me to “rest, rest, rest...” Now if you know me, you know that I have a hard time sitting still for two seconds, so all this resting was a completely new concept for me, but really I had no choice.

So after my Mom and I left London this summer we went to my parents’ house on Cape Cod, where I rested some more. After that I decided to return to Los Angeles, which was when my parents decided that I wouldn’t do much resting without someone keeping an eye on me, so Mother and I headed further West once again.

It felt good to get back into my own home after being away for a pretty good stretch. And having Mom still with me was awesome because I really did need her help and certainly couldn’t have done it without her. It was truly unbelievable that she just dropped everything and came to help me until I was better. I’ll never forget that wonderful time we got to spend together, granted not under the best circumstances, but it was still very, very cool.

I had a marvelous time in the UK as always, but of course couldn’t give it my all...which is a perfect excuse to go back next year. We’ll party till the break of dawn and make up for lost time. Um, just don’t hold me to the “break of dawn” part.

Oh, and I can’t even begin to tell you how awesome the people of England and Scotland were to me. I swear to God, I had to buy another suitcase on the way home, so I could carry all of the wonderful cards, letters, and gifts that were given to me. I read every one of them from cover to cover. They were so nice and so genuine...I know they were really from the heart.

And I appreciate the “Get Well” e-mails you’ve been sending, too. Thank you so much for thinking of me, I was and still am, floored by all the care and warm, warm wishes.

Well, I just wanted to give those of you who were interested, a little update on things, and I guess that’s my update. Now that I’m settling back into LA, I’ll see what’s shaking around here and I’ll keep you posted. Thanks again for everything!

Andy
