Anthony Head has said that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is still an "incredibly current" show.

The actor played Buffy’s Watcher Rupert Giles in all seven seasons of Joss Whedon’s acclaimed teen vampire drama, whose original run ended in 2003.

Head told Digital Spy: "Buffy, amazingly, is still incredibly current. It’s still shown on cable... I still get people who say that they grew up with Buffy.

"Also Hollywood producers who started as humble writers and were actually spurred on by Buffy because it was a writer’s show."

He added: "It’s great when you walk into an office and they’re huge Buffy fans. It’s like, ’Job done!’"

Earlier this year, Head said that it was a "horrible idea" to remake Buffy the Vampire Slayer as a feature film without the involvement of creator Whedon.
