BIGGER ON THE INSIDE (Tuesday 22nd March)

It was September 2003 when Lorraine Heggessey, the Controller of BBC One, announced a new series of ’Doctor Who’ was being planned for transmission in Spring 2005. The series would be made in Cardiff with Russell T. Davies at the helm. This opening programme considers how the creator of ’Queer as Folk’ and ’The Second Coming’ approached the task of re-creating one of the most popular and enduring formats on television.
