’Buffy’ co-star to slay ’em on NBC

HOLLYWOOD (Zap2it.com) - A little over a week after first expressing interest in NBC’s untitled comedy from Matt Tarses and Bill Wrubel, Alyson Hannigan has signed on, booting that pilot’s fortunes.

The project was first mentioned in The Hollywood Reporter on Jan. 7, when it was mentioned that NBC was hoping to make it into a vehicle for the former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star. Hannigan has had a talent deal with the network since October.

The series comes from NBC Studios and will be executive produced by Karey Burke, Wrubel, and siblings Matt and Jamie Tarses and focuses on the relationship between siblings who haven’t spoken in 18 months.

Hannigan, most recently seen on the big screen in the third film in the "American Pie" series, will next play Sally in a London stage production of the Rob Reiner film "When Harry Met Sally ..."
