’Stomp the Yard’ actor lands two film roles

Brian White joins Tyler Perry’s ’Bad,’ horror pic ’Cabin’

Brian White will spend 2009 in vastly different milieus.

The "Stomp the Yard" actor has nabbed roles in Tyler Perry’s next film, the comedy "I Can Do Bad All by Myself," and the Joss Whedon-Drew Goddard horror collaboration "The Cabin in the Woods."

Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford topline the MGM thriller, about which almost nothing is known but its release date: Feb. 4. White will play a character named Truman alongside Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz and Jesse Williams.

In "Bad," White will play Randy, the cocky potential romantic interest of Taraji P. Henson’s character. Last week, Mary J. Blige was cast in the film, which is based on one of Perry’s early plays. It is filming in Atlanta for a September theatrical rollout.

White also had a small part in Perry’s 2007 movie "Daddy’s Little Girls."

The actor, repped by UTA and Luber Roklin Management, next appears in "12 Rounds," which hits theaters March 27, and "Fighting," which is due next month.

He appeared in the features "Brick," "The Game Plan" and "The Family Stone" and also has roles in the forthcoming series "Men of a Certain Age" on TNT and "Eva Adams" on Fox.
