The new issue of TV Guide has the ’25 Sci-fi legends’. #20 is Captain Malcom "Mal" Reynolds.

A bona fide space cowboy, Firefly’s Mal Reynolds was a 25th century renegade who, after fighting on the losing side of a galactic war, made a living as captain of a small space freighter. So what if the Joss Whedon series was canceled after 10 episodes? Played by the strapping Nathon Fillion, Mal made a lasting impression, with fans calling themselves Fillionaires and all but demanding next spring’s big-screen spin-off, "Serenity"

TV Guide did a list of 25 Greastest Sci-Fi Legends. Firefly made #18. The reasons Angel and Buffy didn’t make it, they are other worldly series. Sure Angel went to another dimension, but thats not the focus of the series-the vampire is. Here are the other 24 shows that made the list.
