A celebration of love
IF you are looking for love, you’ll find it on the Hallmark Channel this month. In the run-up to tomorrow’s Valentine’s Day, the channel is airing several movies, including two premieres, in a 10-day celebration of romance. They are:
# For One Night (premiering today, 10pm)
Black southern high school senior Brianna McCallister becomes a catalyst for a historic change when she fights to desegregate her high school prom. Starring Raven-Symone, Aisha Tyler and Jason Lewis.
# Falling In Love With The Girl Next Door (premiering tomorrow, 10pm)
When childhood friends Theresa and Mark meet years later, fall in love and decide to marry, it’s a dream come true - for them at least. For their mothers, two unyielding women still tussling over a 25-year-old feud, it is an over-decorated opportunity for the ultimate battle of wills. When perpetually single Jane Grant receives a wedding invitation allowing for one guest, she turns to her best friends for advice on finding the right man to fit the bill. For workaholic wife and mother Emma Burke, the magic is gone. Then, she is asked to return the ashes of a dear departed friend to Hawaii. City by city, an embattled married couple embarks across the country to attend their son’s wedding. It’s a chance to revisit their tumultuous past, to discover what went wrong, and to find new roads toward a better understanding of what it means to fall in and out of love.
