LOS ANGELES, CA — (MARKET WIRE) — November 27, 2006 — Celebrate this year’s Third Street Block Party with clothing boutique EM & Co. on Dec. 7, from 5 to 10 pm. Enjoy a live performance from up-and-coming LA band Ultraviolet, food and drink, and 15 percent discounts on store merchandise. This is the Third Street Block Party’s third year, and more than 70 businesses are participating, including Aero & Co., All Purpose, Bead Boutique, Blanche & Co., Built by Wendy, Douglas Fir, EM & Co., ethel, Filly, Flight 001, Hillary Rush, inago, jlmarks, Joan’s on Third, Kingsbury, Malgosia, Medak, Meg, Milk, Noodle Stories, OK, Plastica, Plushpod, pip-squeak, Polkadots & Moonbeams, Puppies & Babies, Seaver, Sigerson Morrison, Taboo, Terra, The Knitter’s Studio, Trina Turk, Zipper, ZuluTattoo.

EM and Co. is one of the main attractions on the trend-setting Third Street in West Hollywood and will be part of the Third Street Block Party on Dec. 7, from 5 to 10 pm. Shoppers can enjoy great holiday sales, music and other festivities.

The event, organized by the West Third Street Business Association, stretches the length of Third Street, between Fairfax and La Cienega Boulevards. Over the last three years, West Third Street has become a shopping destination for many tourists, local shoppers and celebrities, like Charlize Theron, Kirsten Dunst, Lindsay Lohan and Demi Moore, who are in search of fashion-forward styles. The street also offers a relatively rare experience in Los Angeles — the ability to stroll along a shopping street for more than 10 blocks without having to drive.

EM & Co. will have a DJ for most of the evening, followed by Ultraviolet’s concert performance. The band recently released its first CD and has performed at many of Los Angeles’ top venues, including The Viper Room, The Scene and The Key Club. Lead singer and Los Angeles native Sarah Hudson grew up in a creative (and famous) family; her father is a well-known producer and part of the ’70s rock trio the Hudson Brothers and her cousin is actress Kate Hudson. She has been singing, recording, and performing since she was a young girl. Over the years she has been involved in many projects with artists, such as Steven Tyler, Ozzy Osbourne, Snoop Dogg, and more. When she’s not singing for Ultraviolet, she creates her own line of jewelry, House of Hudson, which is sold at EM & Co.

"In addition to great fashion, we try to bring culture to people through musical acts and art exhibits in the store," said Eveline Morel, owner of EM & Co. and creator of the EM [re]construct fashion line, who hosts events at her store at least once a month. "I want to give people a great experience when they come to my store and to bring art into our daily lives." Founded in 2005 by Morel, EM & Co. is a relative newcomer to Third Street. Yet, it has already attracted the attention of celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, Alyson Hannigan, Elisa Donovan, and Venus Williams. The store has become a well-known secret among local stylists and wardrobe designers, regularly supplying clothing for "Young and the Restless," "Bones," Si TV, and many other shows and commercials. Morel’s creations, sold in the store, have also been worn by Nicole Kidman, Madonna, Natasha Henstridge, Ricky Martin’s dance team, and a host of other stylists and fashionistas.
