News: FilmMates Entertainment Adds 39 Films to Library With Acquisition of Three Companies

LOS ANGELES, April 6 /PRNewswire/ — FilmMates Entertainment announces the completion of the acquisition of the Cayman Islands based company Camden Equities, World Wide Multi-Media LLC and the Beverly Hills based Hollywood International Finance LLC adding thirty-nine film titles to its existing library.

"We are thrilled with the growth of FilmMates Entertainment as a result of our acquisition of these three companies and we look forward to continuing FilmMates’ expansion and evolution in the coming years. The vision for FilmMates Entertainment is to be successful in the execution of our integrated business model and ultimately realize our goal of evolving into a ’mini-major’ studio," states Alan Goda, president and CEO of FilmMates Entertainment.

Camden Equities, World Wide Multi-Media LLC and Hollywood International Finance LLC all produced, co-financed and acquired films for theatrical release and television. Some of the titles in the newly acquired library include: the drama "Young Sherlock" with Gabrielle Anwar, Vincent D’Onofrio, and James D’Arcy; the upbeat comedy "Aunt Agatha’s Apartment" with Melissa Joan Hart, Carmen Electra, and Ryan Browing; the horror mystery "Shewolf" with Shelby Fenner, Tim Curry and Grace Jones; the James Toback film "Harvard Man" with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Adrien Greiner; and "Freeway 2" with Natasha Lyonne, Vincent Gallo and Maria Celedino.

"Our focus will be on the finance, production and distribution of theatrical release projects with budgets of up to $30 million as well as on low budget ’straight-to-DVD’ projects. We also plan to acquire finished films for domestic and/or foreign distribution. In all cases, projects with bankable talent attachments will be the keys to our success," explained Jeanette Buerling, Executive Vice President Production and Distribution.

FilmMates Entertainment, the Los Angeles based film finance, production and distribution entity acquires projects in various stages of production and assures their world-wide sales and distribution via an in-house sales department. FilmMates Entertainment was founded in November 2001 as a small film fund acquiring low budget movies from promising, up-and-comer directors. Its business model has quickly evolved as FilmMates Entertainment started acquiring film libraries, entertainment companies and theatrical feature film projects.
