While chatting to a studio insider this week about something remotely different - in terms of genre - it was let slip that "Joss Whedon’s doing X-Men next year of course..".

Yep, seems Sunnydale’s own has signed on the dotted line to helm the third chapter in the "X-Men" series. At this stage, they’re talking about the new recruits that are going to join the film, acting-wise.

Halle Berry’s number is still up in the air - "they’re working on that", says the insider - but the rest of the cast are apparently all set to go - Hugh Jackman’s wrapping up his theatre stint as we speak - including Famke Janssen, whose part is apparently going to be a lot beefier this time around.

Bryan Singer might be involved in some capacity I’m told, but they weren’t sure. As for locations, they’re heading back to Canada.

Be interesting to see what Whedon does with this. Sure to be interesting.
