James Marsters at Creation’s Sci-fi Media Convention January 2003

Wednesday 22 January 2003, by Webmaster

Buffy (TV): James ’Spike’ Marsters turned up at Creation’s Sci-fi Media Convention this weekend in Sacramento, where he was asked what will happen at the end of the season: "I finally found out myself what Joss is planning...and I’m SURE as hell not gonna tell you guys...but I will tell you guys that the end of this season is going to be...very romantic...very heartbreaking...and you guys are probably going to HATE it". Has he signed on for a further season? "Contract wise...No...Personally....Yes". Meanwhile whilst talking with ATN Zone, Emma Caufield confirmed she won’t be returning as Anya whether the show continues or not: "I am absolutely leaving at the end of the season. It’s just time...You know, there’s really only so much you can do with a character and hopefully, I’ve kept [Anya] fresh. That becomes the big challenge in and of itself beyond complementing and enhancing the writing. At this point, the challenge really isn’t being a good actor but how to make her interesting. When it really becomes so much about that and you are really grappling with trying to keep things fresh, then it’s time to look at that and move on". Thanks to ’Tara’ & ’Horror God’.
