Jeremy Renner - "The Avengers 2" Movie - Mtv.com Video Interview

Wednesday 9 January 2013, by Webmaster

Remember when "Avengers" star Jeremy Renner said he thought Hawkeye’s story arc was disappointing? He’ll likely get another shot at redemption when the "Avengers" sequel rolls into town in May 2015, for one. But for now, he has no hard feelings towards Joss Whedon and where the filmmaker decided to take his story.

"It’s what he was able to do with the first one," Renner told MTV News. "Now, there’s more opportunities to explore the characters a little more, I think, for everybody. I think that’s exciting."

But Renner won’t be lining up to give Whedon any pointers or suggestions for where to take Clint Barton next. "I’d screw things all up," he said, adding that his process goes a little something like this: "We meet in the middle and we play kick the can."

Renner is presumably back for 2015’s "Avengers" follow-up, but that’s not the only franchise he’s a part of. The actor also spoke about whether or not he’ll return for another "Mission: Impossible" now that "Jack Reacher" director Christopher McQuarrie is on board.

"I haven’t talked to him in a little minute, since his movie came out, ’Reacher,’" he said. "Which I still need to go see. I haven’t talked to Chris in a minute. But if he asked me to be a part of it, I’d love to do it again."
