Joss Whedon + FX = A Great Idea

Monday 25 January 2010, by Webmaster

... Joss Whedon, the much-worshipped guy who hasn’t had a hit since Angel, may finally be learning his lesson and preparing to ditch network television. The show creator with a penchant for musicals is meeting with FX. Why? Is it for a new show? Is it a book club? Is it to figure out what gift to get TNT for its birthday? We’re guessing it’s for a new show.

... That Star Trek thing did okay, so let’s see what else this Gene Roddenberry guy has to offer. Production house Imagine Television is in discussions with Gene’s son Rod (Rod Roddenberry? That Gene is cruel) to develop his dad’s The Questor Tapes for TV. The pilot, written in 1974, imagined a world where televisions were merely inches thick, phones had touch screens, and movies could be "downloaded" from a series of tubes. [The Live Feed]

... $3500 / 1BR Tribeca! Live with a Star! One room in a fab too-bedroom available IMMEDIATELY! Having trubble paying rent, but don’t want to give up this aewsome apartment! Maybe out of town filming guest roles (if I can still get them, LOL!). Must be willing to put up with my BS, and must also pay last 3 mos. rent. Fans of The Beautiful Life preferred. Call [redacted] and ask 4 Mischa Barton.

... We all know that Lost’s Ben Linus is a creepy dude, but OH MY GOD LOOK AT HIM!

... TNT continues to get more awesome with each passing minute. The network has given up on its tough-girl Emmy-winning dramas and is focusing more on ass-kicking manly programming. The net has picked up a pilot from Steven Spielberg starring Noah Wyle about the aftermath of an alien invasion. The net has also picked up two other pilots, but they’re not about zombies, aliens, or baseball, so who cares.

... Maybe this explains how Jay Leno was able to reclaim his show despite public outcry over the late-night talk-show debacle: He’s got friends in high places. Leno will be hosting the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner in May. Admit it, you would trade places with Jay Leno in a heartbeat.
