Joss Whedon - "Wonder Woman" Movie - Lynda Carter About.com Interview

Lynda Carter on Casting the New Wonder Woman Movie: “I’ve been asked this question a lot today and everyone wants to know this. I really think that it has to be someone who is not famous. Not necessarily someone who is inexperienced, but twenty and fresh and with what I hope for that she connects. That she gets it.”

Lynda Carter on the Secret to Playing Wonder Woman: “You can’t play a superhero. You have to play the human being. You have to play the person. The costume and the special effects take care of all that stuff. You have to work at what’s going on inside. Look at like the Indiana Jones movies. You loved him because that’s kind of the way you would react if the boulder was coming towards you or if your dad was treating you like a child again.

That’s why Spider-Man was so successful or Star Wars, particularly the original ones where as things are happening to you you’re reacting and without this kind of posturing.”

Lynda Carter on Being in the New Wonder Woman Movie: Though she had not been approached yet, Carter thought about getting involved in the Wonder Woman movie. “I don’t know. I’d like to be a part of it if it’s right, if it fits in the script and it’s the right thing, if they were thinking of me when they were writing it. But just to be in it, just to do something I wouldn’t care about that.”

Lynda Carter on the Campaign to Cast Her in the New Wonder Woman Movie: “I visited Wonderland because a friend of mine said there’s a website trying to get signatures or something, petitions to have me in the next Wonder Woman movie. I think it’s Wonderland, something like that.”

Lynda Carter on the Wonder Woman Movie Filmmakers: “I think that Joss is an incredibly talented guy, as is Joel Silver. I would love to sit down and hear what he has to say and have a conversation with him, just to have it. Just to let him in on what I [think], without necessarily any strings attached, just because I want so much for it to succeed.”

Lynda Carter on the New Female Superheroes like Jennifer Garner: “I think her TV show is good. I like it a lot. I think she’s good. She’s got a great sense of comic timing and very appealing, and it is that type of likeability that I think if they do Wonder Woman again, they need in that role is that likeability.” From Fred Topel,Your Guide to Action-Adventure Movies.
