Joss Whedon wants to direct Harry Potter Movie #7 !!

Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel, Firefly and Serenity mastermind who many Potter fans have said they’d love to see direct a Potter film) - recently took part in a chat with Empire Online in which he addresses the question (transcript on the Australian Serenity site) :

Iaamond: Joss, what can a Browncoat do to get you directing a Harry Potter movie?

Joss: Iaamond, awesome question, as I was just thinking about this last night...They would have to wait until all the books come out, as I refuse to see any Potter film till I’ve read them all, because she writes better movies than anybody shoots. When she’s done, I’ll go back and watch them and wait for the call to direct number seven.

That would be a perfect match—Joss & a HP movie. He certainly understands magic, adventure, & teens. And he’s a fan of the books- a big plus.

I just finished Half Blood Prince day before yesterday, and just this morning, I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be awesome if Joss did the last Harry Potter movie. Sensational idea.

I pray to god he DOESNT do anything with HP. I hate it it and all it stands for, unlike Buffy or Angel, it almost mocks witchcraft... Grr

Harry Potter is kid’s stuff. Joss has always tried to say something bigger with his work.

Joss Whedon and a Harry Potter movie. That would be untouchable. He’s a director like no other joining a writer of his category, sweet. If you haven’t seen his work your missing something.
