After staying out of the limelight for some time, former NSYNC singer Justin Timberlake is all set for the launch of his new album Futuresex/Lovesounds on September 12.

The album is his second as a solo artiste, with the first being the bestseller Justified which after its release in 2002, won Timberlake two Grammy awards. Cry Me A River, a track from the album, fetched Timberlake the Best Pop Vocal Album and the Best Pop Male Vocal Performance Grammies that year, even as Justified sold over 7 million copies worldwide.

According to Jive Records, the singer’s record label, SexyBlack, a single in the new album that was written and produced by Nate Hills, Timbaland, and Timberlake, will be released to radio stations by July 17. “The new album is all about sexiness. Justin is going for an adult feel - sultry and enigmatic. He wants it to be mysterious and raunchy. The tracks are mainly big club tunes with a hip-hop feel,” a prominent British newspaper quoted a source as saying.

Beginning July, Timberlake will embark on a tour to promote Futuresex/Lovesounds and will cover Europe, the United States and even Japan. The dates and venues, however, are still to be announced.

Timberlake, who is seeing actress Cameron Diaz, has in recent times been trying to make his mark in Hollywood too. The 25-year-old would soon be seen in Nick Cassavetes’ drug drama Alpha Dog and Richard Kelly’s sci-fi thriller Southland Tales. Other films in his kitty include Black Snake Moan, and a film by Kimberly Pierce. He would also lend his voice to a character in the third sequel to animated flick Shrek.
