Marsters’ Mobsters Call for Fan Photos

Wednesday 25 July 2007, by Webmaster

Hello fellow Mobsters and MTSers and others cruising the board. I am working on a project to be given to James at Dragon*Con and would most sincerely appreciate your help. There are many out there who take interesting and excellent photos of James. Recently both James and Steve have commented on fan taken photos and talked about how good they are or how they capture a particular side of James not regularly seen. Here is what I am planning.

I will be making a photo book (professionally bound, black linen cover, full color – except for any black and white photos) composed of photos taken by fans and with the theme—

The Many Moods of James Marsters.

The idea is to label each photo or group of photos with a mood. Might I suggest – Happy, Intense, Adorkable, Serious, Sexy (WAY playing this one down, though – I don’t want this to be the, um, thrust of the book, so to speak), Electric, Curious, Dashing, Awed, Triumphant, etc. as possible moods to be on the lookout for? If you have photos of James from any era that you personally have taken and that are of excellent quality, I would greatly appreciate it if I could have your permission to print them in this book to be presented to James. You will be given full credit for your work either on the page with the photo, or on a separate page devoted to photo credits (this is yet to be determined.)

In addition to these photos, if you have professional photos from Fangoria (in NJ) or Burbank (in CA) for which you have purchased the rights from the photographer, Chris (in other words, you bought the jpg), or if you have NON-professional snapshots of yourself with James (like at Toronto on the Friday night?) that you would like included, I would also like there to be a section of the book with these photos.

Once this book is made, I will bring it to Dragon*Con and ask people to sign it for James – yearbook style. The background will be black and I will bring paint pens of various colors. You do not have to be a contributing member to the book in order to sign it! Just find me there and I’ll give you a pen.

I would also like to give Steve a copy (signed by fans who would like to do so) and will bring one for that purpose. As such, it would be excellent if there was at least one good picture of Steve (or Steve and James) in it. My pictures of Steve STINK. They are universally bad. I’m hoping someone else has had better luck over the years.
