Michelle Trachtenberg - "Black Christmas" Movie - Theinsideronline.com Review

Inside a ’Black Christmas’

He’s makin’ a list and he’s checkin’ it twice, but in the case of the new horror flick ’Black Christmas,’ a killer is the one comin’ to town — and it doesn’t matter if you’ve been naughty or nice!

But while many scarefests have merely capitalized on already spook-filled dates (’Halloween,’ ’Friday the 13th’), ’Black Christmas’ spreads its terror during one of the year’s most joyous of days.

Actually a remake of the 1974 movie of the same name, ’Black Christmas’ finds a group of six sorority girls celebrating the holiday season under one roof. Unfortunately that roof is part of the childhood home of a young boy named Billy, who endured an unbearable upbringing at the hands of an abusive mother 15 years earlier.

Fast forward to present day, where the cute co-eds begin to receive threatening phone calls. Soon after, the gals start to get knocked off one by one in ways that would make even Santa’s normally rosy cheeks go pale.

"You’re gonna laugh, you’re gonna cry, you’re gonna get scared out of your mind," insists MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG, one of the film’s leading ladies.

Opening, appropriately enough, on December 25, ’Black Christmas’ is targeting audiences who want a little tingle with their tinsel.

Says Michelle’s co-star MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD: "There’s nothing out there right now quite like this, so if you want the alternative to the deep Oscar contenders or the happy feel-good holiday Christmas movies out there, then this is the film for you. There are people who want something a little different around the holidays."

Written and directed by GLEN MORGAN, ’Black Christmas’ also stars KATIE CASSIDY, LACEY CHABERT, OLIVER HUDSON and ANDREA MARTIN, who also appeared in the original version helmed by veteran director BOB CLARK.
