It’s a Gilmore Girls mother-daughter reunion on NBC!

Sources confirm to me exclusively that beloved Gilmore matriarch Kelly Bishop has booked a multi-episode arc on Mercy. She’ll play a patient of Sonia’s (Jamie Lee Kirchner) named Elaine.

Where does the Gilmore reunion part come in, you ask? Well, Bishop’s TV offspring, Lauren Graham, is also starring on a Peacock drama, Parenthood. And although Bishop’s first airdate is TBD, there’s a good chance both actresses will be appearing on NBC at the same time. And in my book* that constitutes a reunion.

I am SUPER excited. Though VERY bias because I was a huge Gilmore Girls fan and I thought Kelly was superb has Emily Gilmore.

For those of you who have not seen Gilmore Girls. Emily was also Baby’s bother in Dirty Dancing movie.
