Star-studded Event Takes Place on Sunday, June 13, in Los Angeles (Santa Monica, Calif. - May 7, 2004) - It’s one of the most talked about and anticipated family events in Los Angeles. On Sunday, June 13, over 100 celebrities will come together at the TARGET A Time for Heroes celebrity carnival to benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Each year, Hollywood ’s best-known celebrities volunteer their time as “heroes” working carnival-style game booths to raise funds for pediatric research. In past years, guests have been treated to such one-of-a-kind moments as seeing Tom Cruise in the dunk tank and watching legendary extreme sports figure Tony Hawk performing his signature moves on the TARGET half-pipe. This year’s new activities include the TARGET Bullseye Ferris wheel, a life-size crossword puzzle, kid’s barrel races and much more. In addition to interacting with their favorite celebrities, guests are treated to an array of culinary treats from some of Los Angeles’ finest restaurants. TARGET A Time for Heroes is expected to raise more than $1.5 million for the Foundation and is 100 percent underwritten by Target Corporation to ensure that every dollar raised will help to provide a healthier future for children worldwide.
