Neil Patrick Harris - "How I Met Your Mother" Sitcom - Eric Braeden is a ’D-Bag’

Tuesday 21 December 2010, by Webmaster

Warning: If you’re going to screw over Neil Patrick Harris, prepare to be admonished in front of the world. Or at least the Twitterverse.

The ’How I Met Your Mother’ star did not hesitate to publicly state his opinion of actor Eric Braeden, who bowed out of a guest appearance on the CBS comedy at the last minute. Braeden played Robin Scherbatsky, Sr. on a 2008 episode of the show, and was apparently scheduled to reprise his role in an upcoming episode.

"Eric Braeden is a D-Bag. the actor, (Robin’s dad) agreed to a cameo, then last night bailed, saying the part wasn’t ’substantial’ enough," Harris tweeted. "We’ve recast with Ray Wise, a fantastic actor who makes any part ’substantial’. Super excited to welcome him to the family!"

Geez, Neil, tell us how you really feel.

All kidding aside, it was somewhat strange to see Harris tweet so bluntly about his displeasure with Braeden — but also incredibly refreshing. We usually hear stars go on about how they love working with their costars, how such-and-such is a lovely person and so on. They can’t all get along. But we have to wonder — would NPH have been as honest if the d-bag actor in question had been a more famous name?
