• "Saturday Night Live: The Complete First Season" ($69.98, Universal). As with most things, the original was the best. Here are all 24 episodes from the debut season in their unedited 90-minute format.

John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, Gilda Radner, Jane Curtin, Garrett Morris and Laraine Newman made up the original cast, nicknamed the "Not Ready for Prime Time Players." Musical guests from this first year included Simon & Garfunkel, Carly Simon and Patti Smith. Among the guest hosts: George Carlin (he was the first), Candice Bergen (she showed up twice), Richard Pryor and Rob Reiner.

The eight-disc set has a collectible photo book, plus original screen tests and a 1975 cast interview.

• "Family Guy: Volume 4" ($39.98, Fox Home Entertainment). This series is the prime example of how a fan uproar can bring a canceled TV show back to life. This three-disc set is not the entire fourth season, but 14 episodes from the second half of that season. It’s loaded with extras such as commentaries by Seth MacFarlane and cast members for each episode, 43 deleted scenes, five extended episodes and three featurettes.

• "Bones: The Complete First Season" ($49.98, Fox). One of today’s most underrated shows is "Bones," a cop series with an understated sense of humor. The "plutonic friendship" (ripe with a sizzling and playful chemistry) between stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel is one of the factors drawing viewers to this smart show. The four-disc set has 22 episodes plus the featurettes "Bones: Inspired by the Life of Forensic Anthropologist & Author Kathy Reichs," "Squints" and "The Real Definition."

• "Reba: The Complete Fourth Season" ($29.98, Fox Home Entertainment). Country superstar Reba McEntire is joined by such guests as Dolly Parton, "Desperate Housewives" hunk James Denton and Wendie Malick in these 22 episodes.

• "Criminal Minds: The First Season" ($64.99, Paramount). With second season numbers continuing to climb, it’s pretty obvious that many viewers are just beginning to watch this show. Here’s a chance to catch it from the start. The six-disc set includes commentaries, deleted scenes and featurettes.
