ITV1 have announced that Olivia Williams and Darren Boyd will reunite for a second series of crime drama Case Sensitive, based on the novels by Sophie Hannah.

Adapted by Sarah Williams (Small Island) from Sophie’s novel ’The Other Half Lives’, the two new episodes will again star Olivia Williams (Dollhouse) as DS Charlie Zailer and Darren Boyd (Green Wing) as DC Simon Waterhouse.

In an interview with CultBox earlier this year, Williams described what attracted her to the role: "I loved the way she was written, that she was professionally very astute and very on it, but in private had all the doubts and shortcomings that make her very human."

She continued: "I was attracted by the idea of doing research and actually meeting some female detective sergeants who’ve experienced what it’s like to work in what’s still a very male-dominated world - living this life of trying to understand the criminal mind while remaining female and human. It’s a brilliant study of the female professional and what it’s like to be that right now in this country."
