...I thought I’d toss this out there for y’all to discuss. Got the following from someone overnight:

"I’m an independent filmmaker [ writer / producer ]."

"I had been talking back and forth with one of Sarah Michelle Gellar’s reps about a role in a new film I start shooting in May 2007."

"It was always a long shot, and we did get the run around for quite a while, but eventually, they expressed a morsel of interest."

"Never did speak to her though."

"Unfortunately, yesterday we were informed that she wouldn’t be able to do it; because there might be a clash with ’Batman’."

"Seemed like a fight we wouldn’t win, so gave up on that one."

My first reaction: BS and someone who is suggesting SMG as Harley. Obviously, this won’t make the BOF news page. However, feel free to discuss....

I wouldn’t be surprised if she has NOTHING to do with BATMAN. Think about what she has done lately. Her career is on the downturn. One of 2 things is happening with this story. 1) Her reps are trying to drum up publicity for her so she CAN get a role in Batman and this story is full of shit. 2) Her reps are really shopping her around to this guy for said ’Indy Feature’ and they’d like him to offer a bigger piece of whatever pie there may be and this story is full of shit. Either way...this story is probably full of shit.

She might be cast as Harley Quinn, the Joker’s psychotic sidekick. I actually think this could be a good role for her.

I honestly don’t think taking on a character like this would be good for her career. I think she needs to have some really rave reviews for Suburban Girl and Air I Breathe before she takes a chance on a costume piece like this. It could prove disastrous to her career, at this point.

I think, if she gets the dramatic recognition she deserves as an actress, which she will in "Breathe", and then some good comedic reviews as well, as with "Suburban", maybe then she could take on a campy role like Harley Quinn. But, even then, it is risky. Cat Woman anyone? Sarah is an amazing actress, but she has not shown off her talents in depth since she left Buffy. Hopefully she will change all that once these two movies are released. I am hoping for some award nods for her for "Breathe"! It’s about time she gets recognized for her acting talent and shows the world the depth of her range as an actress. Then she could do the "cartoon" part.

well hate to say it,but i hope that her movie’s are realy on a downturn.mabey she gets a clear state of mind.and she will come back as buffy again.that’s what she is buffy verry sucsesfull.
