Sony Pictures Entertainment has signed a distribution deal with Ghost House Pictures to release The Grudge 2. Ghost House and Sony previously collaborated on the release of last year’s The Grudge as well as Boogeyman, released earlier this year.

Takashi Shimizu, the creative force behind the Grudge/Ju-On franchise, will return to direct. Sarah Michelle Gellar, who starred in the first film, has not yet committed to the sequel.

Under the deal, Sony will also release the English-language debut film from the Pang brothers.
