Moby’s Slipping Away

Electronica supremo is back with a brand new single to cheer up January!

It’s not all bad news in January. Wait until 23rd of the month and you’ll be able to get your hands on the brand new life-affirming Moby single, ’Slipping Away’, a re-recording of a track taken from his highly acclaimed fifth studio album, Hotel.

With remixes by cutting edge DJ Axwell (among others) on the maxi single and a rethink from Tiga on the 12" single, the release continues the Moby tradition of producing new versions of work rather than simply lifting tracks from the album.

And quite apart from ’Slipping Away’, it’s looking like 2006 will be quite a busy year for the artist who was nominated for a Male Artist of the Year gong at the MTV awards late last year. Apart from the release of a brand new DVD of Moby performing live this coming March, the man’s music features large on the new movie by Donnie Darko director Richard Kelly, called Southland Tales (tagline ’Warning, you are entering a world of chaos’!), featuring Sarah Michelle Gellar, The Rock & Justin Timberlake in an acting role.

Moby usually turns down requests to collaborate on film scores but is such a fan of Donnie Darko that he couldn’t resist Richard Kelly’s request to provide music for the movie.
