Richmond’s own Richard Kelly, writer and director of the cult hit "Donnie Darko," will stop by tonight for the grand opening of the new location of Velocity Comics.

Kelly will bring copies of his short graphic novella "Southland Tales," the first part of a three-part series that serves as a prequel to his new movie, also called "Southland Tales."

The 2½-hour movie version of "Southland Tales," which opened to a generally derisive reception at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, has not yet been released in this country.

Kelly will meet his fans and sign autographs at the new Velocity Comics, 904 W. Broad St. He may also bring a preview of his new movie.
