Several items to report here! First, some initial shooting for the film took place over the 4th of July weekend in the Los Angeles area. There will be other footage shot over the next two months before the bulk of the filming begins in September. Things are getting very busy with the crew, so I guess you could say the film is definitely underway. Second, there was a mention in the July 9 issue of Entertainment Weekly (News & Notes section page 16). It talks about the musical aspect of Southland Tales and hints that Trent Reznor is also being courted for some soundtrack work (in addition to Moby). Finally, the cast is starting to grow with several actors recently agreeing to the project. We won’t scoop the official announcement, but there are some interesting additions. On top of that, some other exciting names are being approached with parts - hopefully they will be able to meet the schedule.
