Sarah Michelle Gellar has signed on as the voice of April in the upcoming "Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles" movie.

Fans of the comic book and cartoon series will know that April is a reporter who helps the four pizza-eating reptiles in their quest to stop the bad guys from world domination.

Gellar is joined by Chris Evans as hockey-stick wielding Casey Jones, Kevin Smith as a "greasy-spoon chef" and Patrick Stewart as tech industrialist Max Winters, who is amassing an army of monsters, according to USA Today.

"TMNT" is the first big-screen adventure for the turtles since 1993’s live-action "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III" - but this time, the action is entirely computer animated.

Gellar’s credits include the TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and hit movies "The Grudge", "Scooby-Doo" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer".
