Mirage Studios’ Steve Murphy updated his blog to let us know that the sequel to "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is looking more likely.

"As of two weeks ago Imagi Entertainment (the TMNT movie animation studio) informed Mirage Studios that there was a 50-50 chance of a CGI film sequel. Last week they upped the odds to 70-30 in favor of a sequel, as talks between Imagi and their distribution partners Warner Brothers and the Weinstein Group seem to be heading in a positive direction..."

And why not have a sequel? The film cost only $34 million to make, and almost made back all of it during its first weekend, by bringing in $24 million. "TMNT" went on to earn a worldwide total of $92 million and an additional amount on DVD.

I’m all for the second installment, but only if we get the usual villains (Shredder) that I remember as a kid.
