So is this why Sarah Michelle Gellar left "Buffy: The Vampire Slayer" to make crap like "The Grudge," a frame-for-frame remake of the Japanese horror movie "Ju-On," and "Scooby Doo 2?" Hmmm, sorry to say it, but we have David Caruso syndrome in action here, folks. "The Grudge" is essentially "Ju-On" but with different actors, the same hard-to-follow plot, the terrifically not scary horror scenes and Geller looking so bored as the lead character who gets terrorized by a haven of unforgiving ghosts. Unlike the other recent Japanese horror remake "The Ring," which was genuinely scary and fun, this one’s a rental at best.

Extras: The gem of the disc is the five-part "A Powerful Rage" making-of featurette. Another good featurette on the disc is "Under the Skin" which shows viewer fear reaction to the film. There are also a few commentaries and the usual fare.
