The grudge 2 (PG-13)

Oh, there’s a real grudge here, and it doesn’t have anything to do with this lightweight, silly sequel to an original that had a little bit of sizzle.

This time out, the critters who didn’t like Sarah Michelle Gellar wander around in a house where deaths put a cloud over anyone who enters.

This time, we get Gellar for only a little bit of the flick. Lucky her.

From there on, the grudge, the curse or whatever you want to call it is transferred to her sister, played by Amber Tamblyn.

She’s not a bad actress, but few would be able to make much sense of this tale where pale-skinned creeps, enveloping hair from nowhere and flickering lights are supposed to leave us all breathless.

Retire this redone import before a more dangerous curse strikes those who make it. The one where everyone stays home when "Grudge 3" gets trotted out.
