September is like light years away! And this release date will probably change 10,000 times till then...but I can’t wait to see it, and Happily N’ever after, and Southland Tales, and...well, you catch my drift...;-)

Huh? September 1, 2006!! That’s almost a year down the road. Didn’t Sarah film this in 2004? Hopefully the delay in releasing this film didn’t occur cause the movie is bad.....I would hate for SMG’s first project after the awesome success of The Grudge to be a bomb! Here’s hoping.

’The Return’ (which is not not yet confirmed to be the actual title, by the way) was filmed in early 2005. It is quite common for films to be released into cinemas over a year after the filming took place. Production and distribution companies have very specific criteria for setting release dates - and it has nothing to do with whether a film is good or bad. Plenty of extremely bad films are given priority release dates, backed by gigantic marketing campaigns! The release date for ’The Return’ has, in fact, not yet been confirmed by either Rogue Pictures or its parent company Focus Features. However, a provisonal date has been set. It is September 8, not September 1.

Usually a delayed movie is delayed because the editing process picked up on things that they want to go back and fix. I tend to find delayed movies better than the ones who come out early, because they took the time to get it right. I’m hoping this project is the same way.

I hate to tell you this it never goes well for motion picture to go this long without title until now & late release date since filming wrapped a long time ago!
