Sarah ranks higher than any of her peers on our Top 11 list if only because she has the most Scream Queen credits to date. In addition to the films listed above, let’s also not forget that she played Daphne in both Scooby-Doo movies, which had their share of spooky goings-on. However, Sarah’s reign as a Scream Queen might ultimately be diminished by the fact that she was and forever will be Buffy the Vampire Slayer - her most popular role to date was one that inspired fear rather than expressing it, making it easy to overlook the fact that Miss Gellar has played more than her share of victims. Though she’s been killed off in the Grudge franchise, Sarah is sticking with her horror movie roots with The Return, in which she plays a tough independent woman whose super-strong exterior starts to break down once she starts having visions. You can tell from the trailer that she’s going to hit some high notes in that one.
