Sarah Michelle Gellar lauds Parks as hero for women

Sarah Michelle Gellar says today’s women should look to Rosa Parks for inspiration.

"There was a woman who did so much for other women. And nowadays, women are famous for the way they wear their hair. Or designers they wear. Or who they date," Gellar told New York’s Daily News, at a party.

This comes from a famous actress married to a famous actor (Freddie Prinze Jr.) whose next role is as a porn star opposite The Rock.

"Someone like Rosa Parks reminds you that fighting for women’s causes is the most important thing we can do," Gellar said. Amen, sister.

    She’s absolutely right - Rosa Park’s act of defiance changed the course of history and gave the civil rights movement the publicity it needed to ensure change in America. SMG is right in admitting that some people are famous for such trivial things - although Rosa Park didn’t just fight for the rights women but for all people being discriminated due to their race.

    lol thats so true—Rosa didn’t fight for anything having to do with woman’s rights. She fought for the rights of people that were different, mostly in race and color. Sarah should look up what Rosa was famous for, again.
