Sarah Michelle Gellar admits being married is hard work.

The ’Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ actress is married to actor Freddie Prinze Jr. and admits the pair have to work hard to keep their relationship on track because their conflicting work schedules keep them apart.

She said: "Our society has become such a disposable one. Nobody wants to work at things anymore and marriages are hard work.

"It’s all about communication. We just make it work."

Meanwhile, Sarah Michelle has revealed she and Freddie will never work together again.

The 29-year-old actress - who starred with Freddie in children’s comedy ’Scooby Doo’ - said: "I doubt whether Freddie and I will work together again. People aren’t really interested in seeing a married couple on screen."

One role Sarah Michelle has refused ruling out a return to is Buffy.

She added: "I’ll be in a walker. And Buffy will be killing people with her cane. It’s not in my immediate future, but stranger things have happened."
