7th Heaven’s Sarah Thompson’s New Real-Life Role: Bride

Sarah Thompson, who starred as Rose in the CW’s 7th Heaven, married screenwriter Brad Kane on Saturday in Santa Barbara, Calif., the couple tell PEOPLE.

"It was breathtakingly beautiful," Thompson, 27, says of the wedding, which was arranged by event planner Kara Keaney and held at the Bacara Resort & Spa. "It was amazing to be surrounded by the people you love the most."

The couple were married in a Jewish and Christian ceremony outdoors on a lawn overlooking the ocean. Thompson wore a gown by Vera Wang, while Kane was in a Hugo Boss suit.

"It was very touching," says Keaney, who also planned singer Pink and Lisa Marie Presley’s weddings. "You can tell how much they adore each other."

Among the 110 guests were Lost executive producer Damon Lindelof, who was a groomsman, Mission: Impossible 3 screenwriter Alex Kurtzman and the former star of The Bachelor (and still a bachelor), Charlie O’Connell.

A reception followed at the resort’s Rotunda room, where guests dined on filet mignon and Alaskan wild salmon. A nine-piece band kept the party going until after midnight.

"We had so much fun," says Kane. "We didn’t want the night to end."

The couple met five years ago through mutual friends and became engaged in December 2005.

Thompson’s next project is the feature Babysitter Wanted, due in theaters this fall.

Kane, meanwhile, is currently adapting for the screen Elizabeth Kostova’s bestselling 2005 novel The Historian, about the search for Dracula.
