Summer Glau - "Alphas" Tv Series has been cancelled by Syfy

Saturday 19 January 2013, by Webmaster

Alphas has been cancelled. The outlook hadn’t been good for the Syfy series, which had wrapped up its second season back in October with no word on its fate since. Today, it was confirmed it wouldn’t be coming back for a third season, with cast members speaking out on Twitter.

Ryan Cartwright (“Gary”) broke the news, simply tweeting, “Unfortunately ‪Alphas is cancelled :(.” Warren Christie (“Cameron”) tweeted, “Like my buddy ‪Ryan Cartwright has reported, unfortunately ‪Alphas has been cancelled. Thanks for tuning in the last couple of years!!.”

Azita Ghanizada (“Rachel”) wrote, “Sad to say that ALPHAS will not be returning. What an honor to get to play Rachel for 2years & to work w/ & for the MOST AMAZING PEOPLE EVER.”

Laura Mennell ("Nina") tweeted, “Thanks for all your love for the past couple of years... Sad to say Alphas won’t be coming back. Will miss our lovely crew and cast.”

As a big fan of Alphas, I’m sorry to see the series go. It’s one of those particularly frustrating cancellations for fans, as it follows on the heels of a huge cliffhanger the series ended Season 2 on.

Syfy said in a statement, "Syfy has decided not to renew Alphas for a third season. We’ve been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at BermanBraun Television. We’d like to thank the show’s dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support.”
