’Stars’ Keeps ABC Sky-High Wednesday

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Fast National ratings for Wednesday, June 8, 2005

ABC’s "Dancing with the Stars" looks to be more than a one-week wonder as it led the network to another ratings win Wednesday.

ABC averaged a 6.5 rating/11 share in primetime, beating out NBC, 5.7/10, and CBS, 5.5/10, for the top spot. FOX came in fourth with a 3.0/5. The WB’s 2.0/3 was good for fifth, topping UPN’s 1.2/2.

Among adults 18-49, ABC’s 3.2 rating was tops, and CBS took second in the demographic with a 2.4. NBC, 2.1, was third, edging FOX’s 2.0. The WB averaged 1.4 and UPN 0.7.

CBS started the night on top with "60 Minutes," 5.7/10. A "Supernanny" rerun scored a 5.0/9 for ABC, and NBC’s Court TV import "Psychic Detectives" was third at 4.5/8. FOX finished fourth in the hour with repeats of "That ’70s Show" and "Stacked." The WB got another good performance from "Beauty and the Geek," 2.3/4, which beat "All of Us" and "Eve" on UPN.

"Dancing with the Stars" hoofed its way to the night’s biggest rating, 9.8/16, at 9 p.m. NBC was a distant second with a "Law & Order" rerun, 5.6/9, and CBS dropped to third with "The King of Queens," 5.0/8, and "Yes, Dear," 4.3/7. The dark drama "The Inside" debuted to a 3.2/5 on FOX. The WB stayed in fifth with a "Smallville" rerun. UPN’s "Kevin Hill" repeat trailed.

A second "Law & Order," 7.0/12, moved NBC into the lead at 10 p.m. CBS averaged 6.3/11 with a "CSI: NY" repeat, and ABC’s "Lost" came in at 4.7/8.
