"Big Brother" earned its usual decent ratings Thursday, but CBS’ crime-show reruns helped the network distance itself from the competition on Thursday.

CBS averaged an 8.0 rating/14 share in primetime, easily beating NBC’s 4.8/9. ABC, 3.4/6, beat out UPN, 3.1/6, for third place, while FOX came in fifth at 2.0/4. The WB trailed at 1.1/2.

"Big Brother" earned its usual decent ratings Thursday, but CBS’ crime-show reruns helped the network distance itself from the competition on Thursday.

CBS averaged an 8.0 rating/14 share in primetime, easily beating NBC’s 4.8/9. ABC, 3.4/6, beat out UPN, 3.1/6, for third place, while FOX came in fifth at 2.0/4. The WB trailed at 1.1/2.

The story was similar among adults 18-49: CBS led the way with a 4.2 rating, followed by NBC’s 2.8. ABC and UPN tied for third at 1.7. FOX averaged 1.0 and The WB 0.7.

Episode two of "Big Brother 5," 5.9/11, put CBS on top at 8 p.m. Super-sized "Friends" repeats averaged 4.7/9 for NBC. ABC took third with an hour of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?," 3.2/6. The first half of "WWE Smackdown!" (2.9/5) on UPN was fourth, ahead of FOX’s "North Shore" repeat and The WB’s "Pepsi Smash."

At 9 p.m., "CSI" delivered the night’s best rating, 9.7/17, for CBS. NBC held onto second place with more "Friends" and "Will & Grace," averaging 5.2/9 for the hour. "Smackdown!" moved up to third with a 3.3/6. A "Tru Calling" repeat, 1.9/3, on FOX was fourth, while ABC slipped to fifth with "Kingdom Hospital." The WB went with two episodes of "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment."

"Without a Trace" finished off CBS’ sweep of the night with an 8.3/15. "Primetime Thursday" scored a 5.2/10 for ABC, beating NBC’s "Las Vegas," 4.4/7.
