The last few episodes of Angel will not be cluttered with stars from Buffy The Vampire Slayer according to director Joss Whedon.

Although Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar), will not feature in the episodes of Angel, but according to a report in The Sydney Morning Herald, the story will be centred around her. One of the final episodes will revolve around Angel and Spike trying to rescue her from an old foe. They’re on a mission to rescue the slayer from The Immortal, a monster from their past.

Darla (Julie Benz) and Drusilla (Juliet Landau) appear in flashback scenes. The reason why Whedon does not want any of the Buffy stars on the show is to prevent the stars of Angel from being overshadowed.

US network The WB is somewhat more ambiguous about the final two episodes, saying only that Angel and Co will battle Wolfram & Hart’s mysterious Senior Partners and someone will die. The network also says that Connor (Vincent Kartheiser) will appear in the series finale to be shown in the US on May 19, but the character’s role is left undefined.

    The Angel cast is DIRE.

    Willow could easily overshadow any of them, as could Giles. Xander is just annoying - but not as annoying as Gunn.

    Fred was the best member of the Angel cast, but the rest of them - including Angel - are terrible (mostly due to the dire scripts they are given)

    the way i’ve taken what’s been said about the lack of buffy stars is that the end of Angel as a television series should be as concentrated on the Angel players as possible... there should not be room made for the Scoobies when there are more urgent issues to address...

    Oh thats crap! I was hoping AT LEAST Buffy would be in the finale. Maybe Joss is just trying to keep us guessing?

    No, I’m not kidding - the Angel cast suck. Everytime I see Gunn on stage I just want to hit him. The transition of Wesley from geek to ’dark slightly cool’ guy was WAY too sudden. Angel is just a diddy (look at me, I can brood - again and again and again.) Like I said, Fred was the only decent one - and now in true Angel style they’ve gone and screwed up her character. All of the Buffy cast are MILES better than their counterparts on Angel - except from, like I previously said, Fred and Xander. Fred is better than Xander, but that’s it.

    No I think the Angel cast SUCK LIKE S*** Now we allll know what I’M saying. I mean Buffy SHOULD be in the finale and should Willow and maybe Giles. Xanders OK but u know. Overshadowing my ass!!!!!
