WWE notes & news on smackdown, the Rock, Ric Flair (southland tales mention)

Smackdown tapes tonight in Albuquerque, New Mexico. If anyone is attending and would live to send reports, please email me at Mike@PWInsider.com. We are also seeking live reports from last night’s Raw taping in Lubbock, Texas.

The Rock’s feature film "Southland Tales" is expected to get a lot of press over the next several days as it will be premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in France. The film also stars Sarah Michelle-Gellar and Kevin Smith.

Today’s edition of the Charlotte Observer covered the dismissal of the assault charges against Ric Flair yesterday at this link. The article didn’t break anything that wasn’t mentioned late last night here on PWInsider.com.

In honor of "See No Evil", VH1.com has an article looking at wrestlers in feature films titled, "10 Actors Who Can Take A Folding Chair To The Face." It’s an entertaining read, even bringing up El Santo and Terry Funk as well as the usual suspects (Rock, Hulk Hogan, etc.). You can check it out at this link. Thanks to Christine Coons and J. Brown for passing that along.

A number of readers sent word that Anthony Roble appeared on ESPN2’s Cold Pizza today. As mentioned yesterday here on PWInsider.com, Roble is the Mesa High senior in Arizona who went 96-0 wrestling and recently captured the 112-pound title at the National High School Coaches Association High School Senior Nationals Wrestling Championship, despite being born without his right leg. Roble has been getting some mainstream press in recent months and has been invited by WWE to appear at this weekend’s Judgment Day PPV.
