VERSE HEADED FOR ROUND LAKE AREA LIBRARY

The Round Lake Area Library in Round Lake, Illinois is just a few donations shy from becoming well-versed in the worlds created by Joss Whedon. We hope to be able to donate a complete set of Buffy, Angel and Firefly in the next two weeks.

If you still think of the public library as a silent, almost empty place with librarians wearing their hair in buns and “shushing” everyone, with only books, books, books as far as the eye can see, then you really need to come in and see how your library has changed! The Round Lake Area Library is really hopping! They have close to 20,000 patrons in their database, there are more than 3,000 computer sessions each month, and an average of 23,000 people per month are visiting and using the library.

Patrons can check out books in both English and Spanish, DVDs, CDs, digital cameras, and audio books. Pretty neat, huh?

FIREFLY RAFFLE!

The Whedonverse Multimedia Project is raffling off a chance to win Firefly the complete series on DVD which contains all 14 episodes plus special features such as episode commentaries and deleted scenes. In addition, we’re offering the book Finding Serenity which is a collection of essays about the Firefly series edited by Jane Espenson and Glenn Yeffeth.

From now until June 15th every $5 you donate will automatically enter you into the raffle drawing. All proceeds from the raffle go to providing Buffy, Angel, and Firefly DVDs to public libraries.

MODESTO SAYS THANKS!

Dear Whedonverse,

We have received all the "Buffy", "Angel" and "Firefly" DVDs you so generously donated to the Modesto Public Library. We are sure that they will be extremely popular and are a nice tribute to our former resident, James Marsters.

Yours Truly, Katherine Johnson/ Media Collection Department
