Entertainment Tri-State (the premiere Tri-State guide for music, dining, movies and regional events that runs each Thursday in The Herald-Dispatch) offers the MyMovies weekly DVD contest.

This week’s prize is “Serenity,” a highly derivative sci-fi adventure, attempting to revive Fox’s failed TV series, “Firefly.” Nathan Fillion and Chiwetel Ejiofor co-star for director Joss Whedon.

Submit ONE of the following to enter the contest. The deadline is 10 a.m. Wednesdays. Entries received after the deadline will be entered into the next week’s contest. Each entry must be 100-200 words.

1. A review of a new movie (either in theaters or coming out on DVD).

2. Your top 3 favorite movies and why.

3. An essay on the most underappreciated film.

4. Your favorite actor/actress and why.

5. An essay on the movie you hate the most.

Enter as many weeks as you like (one entry/week). However, you can win only once a month.
