THE BIG EVENT OF 2006 will be the reopening in the summer, after three years, of Glasgow’s greatest treasure, the Art Gallery and Museum at Kelvingrove. The restored building will be very exciting. It had grown tired and sad. The décor was dingy and the spaces cluttered as offices crept into corridors and doors were blocked off.
